Why we sequence labs before mock exams

A short note on motor skills versus recall, and how we order practice so your notes stay honest.

When learners jump straight into timed mocks, they often optimize for pattern matching instead of understanding service couplings. We reorder practice so labs come first, not because labs are easier, but because they force explicit assumptions onto the page.

That habit carries into mocks: you highlight stems differently when you have already misconfigured a subnet in a sandbox. The mistake is cheaper there.

We still run mocks—just after you have something concrete to protect. If your schedule is inverted for work reasons, tell support; we sometimes suggest a lighter lab subset rather than skipping entirely.

None of this replaces official exam guidance from the vendor. It is simply how we stack accountability inside ArcFoundry Cloud Prep.
